Our Story
Turn-Key Construction is built on a foundation of core values that include integrity and service, values upheld for more than forty years by the company’s founder.
In 1981, in the midst of one of our country’s most severe and significant economic recessions, Gene Schroeder established Turn-Key Construction, Inc. Though small businesses everywhere were experiencing drastic downturns at the time, Gene believed that his commitment to providing excellent workmanship and open communication with his clients would allow his own business to move forward.
As the years went by, his vision became a reality he could share with his children. He taught them construction, bookkeeping, and how to compile estimates. He also provided them with tools much more important than the dozens to be found in the back of his truck.
He knew, as every successful small business owner does, that they way you treat your clients is at the heart of whether you thrive or are forced to close your doors. So, what’s the story behind the mustache?
As far as I can tell, Gene was born with his amazing handlebar mustache. At least, it was there for the 50 years I knew him. He was the mustache. People actually stopped him on the street to pay compliments to that mustache. It was his trademark.
